Oil Paintings
There are 22 oil paintings in the Cottonian Collection, all on permanent display in the Cottonian Gallery. They include a number of works by Reynolds, including family portraits, and also the founder of the collection, Charles Rogers FRS FSA (1711-1784). There is also a portrait of William Cotton (1794-1863) of Ivybridge, eventual benefactor of the collection to Plymouth. The remainder represent the different European schools, as in the print collection.
