Introduction

QCA Art & Design Unit 1C :    What is Sculpture?

There is currently one project available for Unit 1C. It was developed during 2005 in association with St. Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Plymouth. Thanks are due to Kay Way (Literacy Co-ordinator) for her support and interest in developing this project.



The activities developed with St. Joseph's School include sketching, painting and digital photography. Other projects may wish to broaden both the skills developed and medium used by the children.

A variety of images were selected from the sculpture in the Cottonian Collection and other sculpture in the art collections to support the 'sculpture' project including: bronzes, plasters and more modern examples form the 20th century made of metal and marble.
