Introduction

QCA Art & Design Unit 6C :    A Sense of Place
(Link to: Standards Site)

Two different image selections have been made to support this project:

Towns and Cities

This selection is available as an image booklet

Calendar Months

Currently one project has been developed for this Art & Design Unit based on this range of images. One of the original pilot projects, it was developed in 2002 by Annette S.M. Sharpe, Deputy Head Teacher, Art & Design Co-ordinator and ICT Co-ordinator at Thornbury Primary School, Plymouth.

The activities developed by Thornbury Primary School centre initially on the theme of collecting and include history and literacy activities and ends with the children producing a substantial piece of artwork.

Other themes which could be developed for this project could be centred on the children's own personal environment and linked to PSHE issues
