Information provided

| Gallery Displays |
A large number of the objects in the collection is currently on display in the gallery (a description of the displays is given in the Gallery page). |
 |
| Web Site |
The information provided about the Cottonian Collection on this web site is varied. For some parts of the collection such as the oil paintings, drawings and watercolours, pottery and porcelain, furniture, sculpture and the Reynolds material, basic information and an image is provided for all the items in these categories. A selection is available for the library and the print collection also. |
 |
| Public Computer |
In addition to this web site a computer containing information about items in the Cottonian Collection is installed in the gallery. This includes a complete listing of the library and the majority of the prints with an image. |
 |
| Publications |
There is a published introduction to the history of the collection, the collectors associated with it and commentary on how the collection came into being. Entitled 'The Story of the Cottonian Collection' by Florence A. Stanbury it can be purchased through the museum shop - for further details click on the term Publications. |

Access to Collections
Information and images on a wide selection from the collection has been made available on the web and on the in-gallery terminal in order to minimise the handling of the original items themselves. It may be possible to make appointments to view specific items not currently in the public view. The condition and fragility, and frequency of requests may limit such physical access.

Photography & Reproductions
For information about photography and the availability of reproductions for publication, please consult the Reproduction & Photography pages, by clicking on these terms in the left hand panel.

Telephone Enquiries
Though some help may be possible by telephone, it is frequently necessary to request that enquiries are put in writing. Please see the Contact Us page for details by clicking on the term in the left hand panel.
